Anesthesia Implications

Position : Supine, arms tucked, head slightly extended
Time : 1-2 hours (average)
Blood Loss : High (200 - 500 ml)
Post-op Pain : High (7-10)
Maintenance Paralytic : Usually avoided altogether; if one is needed, a small titrated dose under quantitative monitoring.
Considerations : Aspiration risk / Full stomach, PONV, One-Lung Ventilation / Lung Isolation
